Easy and Fun to use Recipe Assistant
Meal Planner and Shopping List Feature
Look on each recipe for the Icon called “Add to Collections”. This is your “Recipe Collections” feature which allows you to save recipes in your own collections and then generate a shopping list. You can also create categories to collect your favorite recipes, weekly meal planning, party planning food and much more! I use this feature and love it!!! I am an event planner, so this has helped me organize my party meals saving me a lot of precious time. Not to mention the time I save creating a shopping list.
I will keep “Your Recipe Collections” handy for you on the top menu bar of this website.
Easy to use
Click on the icon “Add to Collections” and then click “Go to Collections”. It will bring you to your very own Recipe Collections page. Here you can create new ones, rename existing collections, or delete collections you don’t need anymore. Once you have named your collections Ex: Meal Plan Week of (enter date), My Favorite Recipes, Perfect Birthday Party Options, etc… click “Stop Editing”.
When you add more collections, you’ll be able to put them in any order you want by dragging them around by using the 2 bars (=) on the left.
The numbers on the right side represent the # of recipes you have in each collection.
Recipe Collection Page
Click on your title collection to open it. The buttons on the right give you different actions to take.
“Add Item” lets you add the recipe you desire. Click on the dropdown of “Add from Collection” and chose “Search Recipes” to see your options and find the recipe you want. You can also type in a recipe you are searching for Ex: Coleslaw. Hover over the 2 bars (=) on the left to drag and drop it to your “Recipes” column on the left side (or whatever you have named your column).
There is a handy feature to take notes and color code them for future reference. Drag and drop your notes to the desired column/recipe.
Please remember to click on “Actions” whenever you want to use the different options.
“Columns & Groups” can be used to alter the layout of this specific collection to whatever you need. Click “Edit Groups” and label them the days of the week, Food, Drinks, Appetizers, Sauces etc… To continue adding more columns, click “Add Column” and give it a title. When done, click on “Stop Editing”. All of this is to help you organize your recipes for future use, just like an old fashioned recipe box that our Mother and Grandmother had.
Shopping List Page
Click on the “Shopping List” button to generate a shopping list for some or all of the recipes in your collection. The plus and minus icons are located on either side of the serving amount. You can use this to alter the servings you want to make for each recipe (or set it to 0 if you don’t want to shop for this particular recipe).
The shopping list has the ingredients already categorized together for you.
Click on the checkbox in front of the ingredients to indicate the ones you already have and use the buttons at the bottom to print the recipe collection, shopping list or both!
Enjoy your easy and fun to use “Recipe Assistant”
