Tools I really like and have used to crush garlic:
You have to get what works best for you. Try these and see what you think.
Garlic Press Rocker
I like this one and I love Food Grade Silicone Peeler included with it. Insert an unpeeled clove into the silicone roller peeler. Roll back and forth on a flat surface. Tip out a perfectly peeled clove.
Garlic Twister
I like this one for mincing the garlic cloves. Peel them first and cut in 1/2 if you need to so it fits in the crusher. Twist back and forth or in a circular motion until minced. I use a cute small spatula to clean out the garlic. This is also a wonderful pill crusher tool. If you need to make a tablet pill form (not capsule) into powder, this works great. Ex: baby aspirin
The traditional hand garlic press.
These work well too. I picked ones for you that had a lot of high ratings and comments for these options. I have one that was given to me as a gift not shown here.
Garlic Press Citrus Squeezer Zester Kitchen Utensil Set 3-pack, Premium Metal Lemon Lime Press Juicer Stainless Steel Professional Garlic Ginger Smasher Cheese Grater
Here’s a nice combo set. I use all these tools.
There is always the old fashioned way.
Take the side of your knife and smash the garlic to get the flaky skin off. Then you can smash it again with the knife or slice into diced pieces.
